81904726According to 12news.uz, December 16, 2014 unidentified drone illegally invaded the airspace of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Sokh district of Fergana region.

According to the press service of the Committee for the Protection of the State Border of the National Security Service (NSS CPSB) of the Republic of Uzbekistan, at 11:15 of December 16th, unmarked white drone with light blue tail entered into the airspace territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan at an altitude of about 200-250 meters, from Kyrgyzstan (Apkan village of Aydarken district of Batken region) and flew 7.5 km in direction towards Limbur village of Sock district of Fegrana region of Uzbekistan. At 12:15 the device returned back to territory of Kyrgyzstan.

SBPC NSS officially declares that in the case of repetition of the violations of the airspace of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Uzbek side reserves the right to take all measures necessary to protect airspace of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Three day later a U.S. drone reportedly fired two missiles at militant hideout in northwestern Pakistan, killing at least five Taliban fighters, two security officials said.

U.S. officials rarely if ever comment on the covert drone program, which has eliminated several top militants but has also resulted in civilian casualties, making it extremely unpopular among Pakistanis.

About Ahmed Islamov

I was born and raised in Uzbekistan and lived in that country for about two thirds of my life. I left the country about 14 years ago but sustained tight bonds with my family and friends living there. I know and communicate personally with hundreds of people including blue-, white- or pink-collar workers. I am naturally very attached to and concerned with everything that is going on there.
