Karimov will star in the upcoming president Karimov election

www.press-service.uzElections of Islam Karimov as the next President of Uzbekistan will be held on 29 March 2015.

Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan nominated 76-year-old Islam Karimov, who has been in power since Soviet times (before he became president, he served as the first secretary of the Uzbek SSR). His supporters have argued that because of the amendment to the constitution (changes related to the duration of the presidential term) previous periods Karimov like “reset to zero”, which allowed him to run again.

People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan has nominated Hotamjon Ketmonov.

Narimon Umarov will run for presidency from Adolat party.

Akmal Saidov nominated to post of President of Uzbekistan

Democratic party of Uzbekistan “Milliy Tiklanish” has nominated Akmal Saidov.

About Ahmed Islamov

I was born and raised in Uzbekistan and lived in that country for about two thirds of my life. I left the country about 14 years ago but sustained tight bonds with my family and friends living there. I know and communicate personally with hundreds of people including blue-, white- or pink-collar workers. I am naturally very attached to and concerned with everything that is going on there.
