Muslims of Uzbekistan condemn the cartoons of Charlie Hebdo and the political prostitution of the mass media

Do the cartoonists really care about the problems of our society? What are the roots of the terrorism, radicalism, crime, violence, inequality, poverty, and wars? It does not take a lot of intelligence and wisdom to understand that in “bad hands” religion can be (and often IS) abused to become a deadly destructive weapon, leading masses to fratricidal wars, violance and murder. Just like mass media can be (and often IS) used by corporations-controlled governments to brain-wash their people, to generate controllable hatred, to unleash wars in Midle East. As well as to control their own citizens by implementing “anti-terroristic” measures allowing them total control over freedom of their citizens! So do we have to get rid of religion and get rid of mass media? Or do we have to adopt a system that will not encourage abuse for the sake of profits by elites? Mass media that has lucrative interests in generating hatred-controlled masses instead of solving the real problems, is not promoting “freedom of speech” but rather is engaged in a form of political prostitution.

What today is called democracy, does not allow one group of people to mock the feelings of others, especially when it comes to religion. Acts taking place today dissent and demonstrations, riots Christian churches, mosques, ordinary housing ordinary people – a direct consequence of manifestations of lack of respect for the feelings of Muslims, “said in a statement the Board of Muslims of Uzbekistan.

The most terrible and tragic is the death of innocent people who do not have anything to do with these events. Unfortunately, like, what happened a few years earlier, did not become a lesson for Western countries, “- said in a statement.

“Any neglect of religious sites, regardless of religion, blasphemy, disrespect, mockery of the name of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is not allowed, image and distribution of cartoons carries the spirit of incitement that leads to conflicts between members of different religious faiths, nations and peoples, sowing discord and enmity “- said the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan.

About Ahmed Islamov

I was born and raised in Uzbekistan and lived in that country for about two thirds of my life. I left the country about 14 years ago but sustained tight bonds with my family and friends living there. I know and communicate personally with hundreds of people including blue-, white- or pink-collar workers. I am naturally very attached to and concerned with everything that is going on there.
